Lanyero Jennifer studied in school until primary six when she was forced to drop out because the family didn’t have enough money for her school fees.
Jennifer married and now has six children. Eager to find a way to support her family and gain financial independence, Jennifer studied tailoring through Project Have Hope’s vocational training program. For several years, she worked in a factory making uniforms and maintained a small workshop out of her home.
As Jennifer’s skills improved and her reputation as a talented seamstress grew, she was able to quit the tiresome, overnight shifts at the factory and devote her time to developing her own business.
In order to offer her customers the best service, Jennifer must buy numerous fabrics so her customers can select the design of their choice. Additional capital is critical to enable her to stock enough materials and gain more orders.
