Project Have Hope currently sponsors over 100 children and teenagers ranging from age 5 to 21. Project Have Hope enrolls children in day schools and boarding schools in order to best suit the individual needs of children and their families. The two day schools, Good Daddy and Kireka Hill, are among the best performing schools in the country.
The two boarding schools, St. Kizito and St. John Bosco, are high quality Catholic schools in the area. Project Have Hope has no religious affiliation nor does it promote particular religious beliefs; all of the schools we work with have been chosen for the quality of education they provide. All four schools encourage academic excellence and have a diverse student body.
Ideally, children attend school for 11 to 13 years at a minimum. You may choose to sponsor your child for one year, several years at a time, or for the entirety of his/her education from nursery school or primary school through secondary school. By sponsoring a child you dramatically change the course of his/her life. Your continued sponsorship will eventually lead to your child’s ability to care for himself/herself and others in the community. In addition, sponsoring one child’s education will create a unique bond between you and your child. No matter how long you are able to support your child financially, this is a bond that will last forever.
100% of your sponsorship will go toward funding your child’s education. Your contribution will cover tuition fees, room and board (when applicable), uniforms, and other necessary supplies. The three different sponsorship levels are listed below.
Children initially attend nursery school (similar to kindergarten in the United States), then proceed to the primary level for seven years (P1 through P7), then proceed to the secondary level typically for six years (S1 through S6).
At the primary level, children study English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Social Studies consists of History, Geography, Civics, and Current Affairs. The secondary school program is split into two sections: the standard four-year program and the advanced two-year program. At this level, students study English, Math, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Geography, History, and French. Some schools also offer German, Italian, Arabic, Kiswahili, or Luganda and a number of additional courses such as English Literature, Fine Art, Technical Drawing, Music, Religion, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Commerce, and Agricultural Studies. In the first two years of the standard secondary school program, students study a wide range of courses. As they progress, students begin designing their course programs toward graduate degrees and future career goals. After completing secondary school, students continue their education at the university, pursuing careers in such fields as Engineering, Medicine, Law, and Mass Communication. Others enter vocational training programs.
After you have chosen a child to sponsor you can choose to pay annually or be billed monthly. To make your monthly payment, you may use any major credit card to make a secure donation online through PayPal HERE. All donations are tax deductible.
Please note: Schools often increase their fees annually and sometimes even throughout the school year. Project Have Hope does its best to absorb these additional expenses. However, once children move on to the secondary level, school fees increase dramatically from $400 to $900 annually. If you sponsor a child at the primary level, we encourage you to continue sponsorship as the child progresses. If you are unable to cover the school fees yourself, we can seek additional sponsors for your child.
